The Nurse Practitioner for Palliative Care works in collaboration with the physician and other palliative care staff to deliver palliative care and provide related health care services to patients and their families.
Responsibilities include: Assist with diagnosis of treatment and symptom mgmt of acute and chronic health conditions.
Order, perform and interpret lab and radiology tests within scope of practice.
Order treatments, prescribe medications.
Educate staff, family and community on all aspects of palliative care.
Requirements include: Master’s in Nursing with a specialty in Gerontology or Palliative Care.
Current license as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
Current CPR certification.
5 – 10 years experience in palliative or geriatric care.
Proficient in computer programs and qualitative data mgmt.
